Level #4 national and international
National and International – Identification of a vision for how government policies and support, national institutions and networks, EU directives, and regional and national businesses and supply chains, can support and enable the ‘makespaces in re-distributed manufacturing’ model.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
We have started to consider our focus for this level, and are planning a symposium in 2016.
We are undertaking relevant research and looking out for interesting people and projects working within this space. We will be building on the learnings of the preceding levels and studies.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO
At the fourth symposium, we will launch the call for feasibility studies at this level.
The call for feasibility studies will be open for 3 weeks and we will select one study to fund based on the criteria outlined and the challenges highlighted in discussions and presentations at the symposium.
The Feasibility Study for this level is anticipated to be an investigation into the role makespaces can play in combination with regional and national material and technology supply chains. Exploring opportunities of makespaces within retail, DIY centric retailers in makespaces as well as new business models emerging from digital fabrication technologies and self build.
The initial scoping work and symposium will inform the study selection.
Proposals will be limited to 4 pages covering track record, background, objectives, workplan, and potential impact. You can see the call for level 1 here.
